Gas System Balance Report
(Gain/Loss Statement)
The "Gas System Balance" report reconciles all of the reported volumes for a
gas gathering system providing a tool for "checks and balances". The report
accounts for shrink due to the effects of measuring water vapor at the wellhead
meter, compressor fuel, dehydrator fuel, etc. The total of all the input
wellhead meters are balanced against the output sales meter. The amount of gas
gained or lost during a period is expressed in percentages and MCF or MMBTU.
HGMI believes that any discrepancy can be resolved. This report reduces
operating losses and aids in finding problems before large losses occur.
